Job Description
Location: Remote- Mexico
**Must be fluent in English and Spanish**
We are looking for a full-time accountant for our Monterrey, Mexico subsidiary who will help us transition accounting from our outside Mexican accounting firm to internal accounting and reporting using NetSuite accounting software. This is an individual contributorrole that is primarily responsible for managing payroll, processing accounts receivable and accounts payable, and recording general ledger transactions for this fast-growing division of an American company. The candidate must be fluent in both Spanish and English and will be a part of the global finance team, reportingto the Corporate Controller (based in the U.S.).
This role will work closely with the Director of Sales and the HR Manager based in the Monterrey office.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare weekly cash forecast spreadsheet to USA corporate accounting team
- Accounts Receivable – invoice all customers and intercompany transactions, including obtaining Purchase Orders and uploading invoices to billing portals, follow up on collections and manage customer subscriptions with Mexico’s Go-To-Market team.
- Provide Quincenal (semi-monthly) payroll transaction data to external CPA firm, review payroll reports and set up payments to employees’ bank accounts
- Manage and schedule Prestamos (employee advances) funded from Paynom / Bison Technologies
- Accounts Payable - manage all vendor invoices and work with Managing Director to process payments
- Assist with implementation of NetSuite accounting software for the Mexico subsidiary
- Provide transaction details to CPA firm along with supporting documentation for daily accounting until NetSuite implementation completed, then work with CPA firm for monthly tax and GST reporting
- Coordinate intercompany and external CPA firm financial requests
- Assist Corporate Controller (US) with reviewing monthly financial reporting package from CPA firm
- Perform other Finance and Accounting duties as assigned and special projects as deemed necessary
Qualifications
- Accounting or Finance degree required plus at least 7-10 years working experience including prior experience recording all general ledger transactions and processing payroll and all taxes.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of management in Spanish and English.
- Proficiency in Excel is required.
- Proficiency with NetSuite is preferable. Experience with other, major accounting systems is required.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
- Able to multi-task activities with shifting priorities and have a “can do” approach to the varied responsibilities of this role.
- Should be honest, assertive, systematic and detail oriented.
