ABOUT THE ROLE


Second Front (2F) is seeking a skilled and motivated Software Systems Engineer with a Top Secret/SCI security clearance to join our growing team. In this role, you'll spearhead our technical efforts to bring our customers within our DevSecOps platform (Game Warden) onto classified fabrics. Second Front is working to accelerate the transition and adoption of emerging technology into the national security ecosystem, including the Department of Defense. We are seeking professionals who want to operate on the front lines of an exciting and disruptive mission.

This position will report to the Director of Federal Delivery for the onboarding period, then transfer to the Delivery PM. As a Software Systems Engineer at Second Front Systems, you'll be pivotal in architecting, seamlessly integrating, and deploying our customer infrastructure and workloads. Drawing on various cloud-based and bare-metal Kubernetes solutions, you'll utilize Infrastructure as Code tools like Pulumi in Golang to streamline operations. Your mandate spans automating processes, crafting innovative infrastructure solutions, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

With a critical focus on fortifying our Game Warden platform, you'll tackle intricate challenges and propel operational excellence forward.

This position requires a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.


What You'll Do


  • Work closely with the team to implement DevSecOps projects, ensuring timely delivery, security compliance, and meeting customer expectations.
  • Act as a technical resource for the team and customers, providing solutions and support for escalated technical issues and ensuring a smooth deployment process and support for Day 2 Operations. This position requires SCIF presence approximately 50% of the time.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including sales and technical implementation managers, to align project goals with broader organizational objectives.
  • Contribute to the team's continuous improvement initiatives by identifying potential risks, suggesting mitigation strategies, and implementing best practices in DevSecOps.
  •  Assist in developing and maintaining strong customer relationships through regular communication, status updates, and project reviews.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, advancements in DevSecOps, and emerging technologies to enhance service offerings and contribute to the team's knowledge base.

Skill You'll Bring to Our Team


  • Proven experience in engineering, DevSecOps, or a related field, with a strong understanding of cloud technologies, containerization, and software development practices.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, and Gitlab CI/CD is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex challenges in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team and contribute to a positive, high-performance work environment.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to diverse audiences, including team members and customers.
  • Ability to be on-site at either Rome, NY or Hampton Roads, VA

$180,000 - $210,000 a yearThe range for this role is $180,000 to $210,000.
