We are looking for a highly skilled Software Engineer who is comfortable with back-end programming, as well as working in AWS. The Software Engineer
is responsible for designing and implementing secure API endpoints in a micro-service architecture and ensuring the responsiveness of applications. These duties include working alongside architects for high-level design implementation and other business stakeholders. What you’ll be doing:
- Design and develop Web Service endpoints, enabling secure and demonstrably performant data exchange with the rest of the middleware system in the cloud, on-premises as well as mobile devices in the field using primarily Java
- Write software design specifications using modern design patterns
- Design and develop parts of the solution responsible for storing and retrieving data from the various data stores, including service buses, distributed cache systems, both RDBMS and No-SQL databases
- Design, implement, and write test software for both the delivered solutions and the surrounding architecture
- Work with Performance Engineering to ensure high scalability is achieved and required KPIs are met
- Contribute to advancing reliability and performance of the Service Architecture, introduce new performance counters and instrumentation points
- Stay abreast of developments in relevant technologies
- Maintain existing platforms
- Expand documentation of existing services
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related degree
- 3+ years of experience in building REST/GRPC based APIs
- 2+ years of Java experience
- Full working knowledge of Git
- 2+ years of experience with a Cloud Computing Service, such as AWS
- 1+ years of SQL experience
- Self-starter personality with the ability to wear multiple hats to create solutions
- Ability and mindset to dive into unfamiliar problems and come up with unique solutions
Bonus Points:
- Master’s degree or higher
- Experience with Python, Go, and/or JavaScript
- AWS experience, especially in Load Balancers, EMR, EC2, ECS, Lambda, S3, and Terraform
- Functional Programming experience
- Previous industry experience in Telecom
