Join us to be at the forefront of technological advancement and take your career to new heights!Based in Baxter Springs, KS near the rapidly expanding Joplin, MO area, the Accounting Manager will report to the Assistant Controller and play a key role in driving and providing accurate financial reporting for the largest manufacturing facility within the $450mm+ Shape Technologies Group.

This is an opportunity to work for a growing and dynamic team that always strives for continuous improvements while focusing on enjoying being a team.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

  • Areas of work and oversight include accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger.
  • Perform and review complex accounting analyses, journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting and internal control compliance.
  • Coordinate and prepare for audits, including liaising with external auditors.
  • Work with the Assistant Controller to supervise, train, and mentor accounting staff to ensure the team’s effectiveness and professional growth.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the accounting function.
  • Handle other ad hoc financial projects as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • In-depth understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and advanced knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Education/Experience and/or Training:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, supervisory experience required.
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience with a background in public accounting, 5-7 years of experience in industry with no public accounting
  • Accounting experience in a manufacturing company is preferred.
  • CPA designation preferred.
