JOB DESCRIPTION
We are searching for a candidate to work part-time as a lab assistant reporting to our Scientist II – Laboratory Coordinator & Floor Manager. This position offers a variety of basic-skill bench work, lab-related administrative work, and general lab-services work which keeps our manufacturing, upstream, and R&D teams running effectively and smoothly in our company’s efforts to produce EUA-approved Covid-19 antigen tests and other InBios products. This position is ideal for someone who wants to start out working in a laboratory environment, learn industry standard good manufacturing practices (GMP), and who is ready to learn new skills and procedures.
Complete on-the-job training is provided, and we are happy to work around class schedules.
Experience and knowledge needed to be successful in this position:
- Completion of college level general chemistry series.
- Enjoys working with a team and individually.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Easily adaptable to changing priorities.
- Ability to adhere to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) regulations.
- Comfortable with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Job duties include:
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) per GMP and modify/initiate SOPs for manufacturing processes.
- Operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining lab equipment and machinery.
- Cleaning and maintaining laboratory environment.
Work environment information
- Position responsibilities include work in a Biosafety Level 2 lab (BSL-2) and a humidity-controlled environment.
- This position requires an ability to lift up to 30lbs with assistance.
Wage/Benefits information
- The starting pay for this position is $20.76/per hour.
- The position pay range is $20.76 - $22.00/per hour. This is a nonexempt, part-time position (16 – 24 hours per week). Part-time employees are eligible to accrue pro-rated paid time off based upon the policy stated in the Employee Handbook.
