ABOUT THE ROLE:


Reporting directly to the Cofounder and CEO, the Director of Operations will oversee and refine all operational functions at Soko Glam, including supply chain management, demand planning, forecasting, and customer experience. This role is critical in ensuring operational excellence and scalability as we continue to grow.The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the beauty or CPG industry, with experience working in startup or small company environments. They will bring strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to streamlining operations and driving efficiencies across teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Supply Chain Management: Oversee the entire supply chain to ensure timely, efficient, and cost-effective product delivery. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and logistics partners while implementing scalable processes to support business growth.
  • Demand Planning & Inventory Management: Lead demand planning and forecasting to optimize inventory levels, align production with sales goals, and avoid overstock or stockouts. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and operational alignment for product launches and ongoing initiatives.
  • Customer Experience & Order Fulfillment: Partner with the Customer Experience team to enhance the customer journey, resolve issues, and improve order fulfillment processes for a seamless experience.
  • Operational Strategy & Process Improvement: Design and execute operational strategies that align with the company’s growth objectives. Continuously evaluate and improve processes, leveraging technology and best practices to increase efficiency and scalability.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Build and lead a high-performing operations team, fostering collaboration, professional growth, and accountability. Set clear goals and provide regular feedback to ensure success across all operational functions.
  • Budgeting & Cost Management: Manage the operations budget to ensure cost control and profitability. Identify opportunities to reduce costs across supply chain, logistics, and other processes without compromising quality.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements related to operations, supply chain, and international trade. Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks and disruptions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a key partner to the Cofounder and CEO and collaborate with other departments, including Marketing, Product Development, and Finance, to ensure alignment and success of company-wide initiatives.
  • Reporting & Insights: Establish reporting frameworks to track operational metrics (e.g., lead times, fulfillment rates, inventory turnover) and provide actionable insights to executive leadership.
  • Vendor & Partner Management: Negotiate contracts and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and logistics partners, ensuring alignment with business needs and performance expectations.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:


  • Experience:
  • 10+ years of experience in operations, with expertise in supply chain management, demand planning, forecasting, and customer experience.
  • Beauty or CPG industry experience is required.
  • Proven experience in scaling businesses and creating operational efficiencies.
  • Skills & Expertise:
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Expertise in supply chain systems, demand planning tools, and operational best practices.
  • Deep understanding of customer experience strategies.
  • Startup/Small Company Experience:
  • Prior experience working in a startup or small business environment is required, with the ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced setting.
  • Leadership & Collaboration:
  • Ability to work closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
  • A collaborative and proactive mindset, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.

In accordance with the applicable law, the following represents a good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum compensation range for this position:The estimated annual compensation range for this role is $145,000 - $180,000.

  • There may be future opportunities for continued pay progression based on continued strong performance in the role.
  • Full-time positions are also eligible for a competitive compensation and benefits package that include medical health insurance, 401K, Paid Time Off, Life Insurance and Long Term Disability leave, and a range of other benefits.
