The IT Technician position will work in our McLean, VA office Monday - Thursday with the flexibility of remote work on Friday.
Responsibilities
- Laptop Building:
- Assemble and configure laptops according to company specifications.
- Install and update operating systems and software applications.
- Ensure all laptops meet security and performance standards.
- Asset Tracking:
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets.
- Track the lifecycle of hardware and software assets.
- Ensure proper documentation and labeling of equipment.
- User Account Creation:
- Create and manage user accounts in various systems.
- Set up email accounts and access permissions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and security protocols.
- First Level Help Desk Ticket Management:
- Respond to and resolve first-level support tickets in a timely manner.
- Provide technical assistance to end-users via phone, email, or in-person.
- Escalate complex issues to higher-level support when necessary.
- Hardware Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose and repair hardware issues with laptops, desktops, and peripherals.
- Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on IT equipment.
- Collaborate with vendors for warranty repairs and replacements
Requirements
- Proven experience as an IT Technician or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of laptop and desktop hardware.
- Familiarity with various operating systems (primarily Windows).
- Familiarity with Microsoft cloud services (M365 and EntraID) would be a plus.
- Experience with asset management and tracking tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional) are a plus.
