UE’s claims department fosters a supportive and dynamic work environment that values your skills and perspectives.Overview:Under general supervision, the Resolutions (Claims) Technical Specialist provides claim processing support throughout the claim lifecycle for the department.
This position will handle all aspects of initial claim receipt, verification and setup to ensure accurate claim categorization and assignment. In addition, the Specialist will proactively advance claim financials through management of legal and vendor invoice workflow and assist in timely claim resolution practices through claim pending analysis and settlement processing support.Responsibilities:
- Perform new claim setup by analyzing information reported from members and capturing all required information in claim systems including validating information necessary for litigated claims, counsel assignments and invoice processing.
- Create and distribute routine claim correspondence to members, law firms and other third parties.
- Generate and analyze reports of new claims to ensure compliance with department guidelines.
- Establish and maintain all vendor information necessary for timely and accurate invoicing and payment processing.
- Document all outside vendor retentions including details of the terms of engagement, need for a budget, expected billing practices and agreed rates.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or Paralegal certificate with 1-3 years experience including claim handling, litigation, law firm billing or similar experience; or 4-6 years of relevant experience
- Understanding of business financial workflow including invoice and payment processing
- Strong customer service, communication and active listening skills
- Very high facility with technology and productivity software applications (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, etc., Salesforce, SharePoint)
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret basic to moderately complex documents such as insurance policies, court documents etc
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Comfort with gathering, evaluating and reporting on business data and metrics
- High attention to detail and interest in process efficiency
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and responsibilities
- Ability to work independently as well within a team

The below hourly range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.Hourly Range$23—$32 USD
