Database Administrator (DBA)
Astor & Sanders Corporation (Astor), an award-winning IT solutions provider headquartered in McLean, VA, is seeking a Database Administrator (DBA).This is a full-time position and requires at least ONE DAY onsite in Ogden, UT.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the performance, security, and availability of SQL and Oracle databases.
- Implement database changes and monitor system performance and health.
- Perform backups and recovery tasks, including developing disaster recovery plans.
- Troubleshoot database issues and optimize SQL queries for performance.
- Collaborate with development teams to provide database design and architectural recommendations.
- Monitor database environment and provide regular status reports to management.
- Stay updated on the latest database trends and technologies.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 1+ years of experience in database administration and management.
- Proficiency with SQL Server or Oracle databases
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Active Secret Clearance is required
- Security+ Certification is a plus
