The Junior Accountant is responsible for timely and accurate processing of financial transactions into the subledgers, digital filing of the documents, ensuring accuracy of data and adherence to accounting principles, as well as performing reconciliations and supporting the Finance Operation team.Responsibilities:
- Maintain the accounts receivable (AR) ledger, monitor and maintain up-to-date records for client accounts, and follow up on overdue payments
- Professional handling of customer inquiries, including providing detailed customer reconciliations and statements as required, resolving payment disputes, and processing payments and refunds
- Maintain accounts payable (AP) ledger, set up suppliers, and reconcile company credit card expensesSupport the month-end close process, prepare monthly, ad hoc, and accrual journal entries
- Prepare monthly reconciliations of the general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies
- Manage digital filing of contracts and other documentation
- Assist Finance Operations team with financial reporting and ad hoc financial analysis as required
- Other accounting and administrative duties as directed by the Finance Operations team
Details:
- Prior experience in accounting and/or bookkeeping required
- A business degree with a concentration in finance/business/accounting preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP – IFRS)
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong team player
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Strong work ethic with a positive attitude
- Excellent communication skills for interaction with customers and team members
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills
- Experience with Workday would be an asset
