You will take ownership of sourcing, quoting, and executing institutional client trades, while delivering exceptional service and fostering lasting client relationships.
This position requires a strategic thinker with a keen understanding of market dynamics and a passion for identifying opportunities to drive growth and innovation in the cryptocurrency space.The Institutional desk at Uphold is brand new, so this is an opportunity to join a small, tight-knit team at ground level. We’re looking for zero-ego teammates with strong interpersonal skills, able to work with colleagues across the organization to help build a solid business unit. Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for spot cryptocurrency trade execution, ensuring seamless transactions and delivering white-glove service to a global client base.
- Monitor customer chats, respond to voice RFQs, provide pricing, and execute trades. For worked orders, manage limits, call levels, TWAPs, and other execution strategies.
- Drive business growth by providing actionable market insights and flow ideas, identifying key trends, and highlighting relevant themes and headlines.
- Recognize and adapt to customer nuances and behavior; verify details when in doubt to build trust and credibility.
- Identify and promote new business opportunities and alternative execution methods.
- Relay feedback to quantitative traders and sales teams, including pricing, token requests, technical queries, and market insights.
- Resolve post-trade issues such as breaks, discrepancies, fund flows, and pending transactions.
- Stay informed on blockchain developments, fund launches, and regulatory changes.
- Participate in customer events and conferences as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree ideally but not necessarily in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance or Science.
- Experience as a sales trader in either spot or derivatives markets in cryptocurrency or traditional markets earned at a bank, brokerage or other agency / principal OTC desk.
- Demonstrable track-record growing a customer base or revenues of a business in financial services.
- Strong interest in cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, macroeconomic developments and geopolitics / current events.
Skills not required but viewed favourably
- Coding skills (Python or Golang)
- Experience with SQL/Postgres
- Existing book of customers within the cryptocurrency industry in Europe, North American, Asia, or farther afield
