The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources department. Provides assistance with facilitating the implementation of HR policies, procedures, and programs. Pay range: $21.63 - 25.00/HR

Essential Duties:


  • Maintains employee records and files, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and federal guidelines.
  • Prepares new hire onboarding documents to include background check and drug test.
  • Assists in processing new hires with all necessary personnel forms during orientation; explains benefits, policies and procedures of the company and enrolls employees in the HR/Payroll system.
  • Prepares termination documents and assist with processing unemployment claims.
  • Perform data entry and filing of all HR related documents.
  • Assist with HR projects, such as creating employee handbooks and updating forms.
  • Answer employee questions and inquiries pertaining to HR policies, procedures and health benefits.
  • Partner with management to keep track of employee attendance records.
  • Perform other tasks as needed.

Required Skills and Abilities:


  • Ability to manage extremely sensitive and confidential information and documents.
  • Ability to apply independent judgment, discretion, and initiative to identify and address problems, propose solutions, and refer more complex problems to HR Manager
  • Ability to work under stressful and pressure-filled situations.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be organized and detail oriented.

Preferred Skills and Abilities:


  • Experience processing DBIDS applications and renewals.
  • Experience with Driver Qualification Files.

Education and Experience: 


  • Associates or equivalent experience 
  • Experience providing support in a Human Resources department
  • Experience with onboarding and working with recruitment/applicant tracking systems
  • Experience working with E-Verify, 1-9 Verification, and background check systems
