Internship - Finance, Development/Capital (Summer 2025)


BioMed Realty is seeking an undergraduate or graduate student majoring in Business, Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or an equivalent field, with an interest in Commercial Real Estate and Corporate Finance to perform general research, analysis, and support for the finance team.

Key Duties and Responsibilities 


Intern will assist with the preparation of:

  • Property and portfolio cash flow forecast, modeling, and analysis with emphasis on portfolio capex
  • Recurring quarterly presentations and reporting packages, including actuals vs. budget analysis
  • Assist in preparation of development reporting, in coordination with Development, Asset Planning and Analysis, and Accounting functions
  • Other ad-hoc projects related to above
  • Role will require heavy utilization of the organization’s enterprise reporting software, Oracle Smart View

Job Specifications


  • Interest in commercial real estate and/or corporate finance
  • Experience with Excel and PowerPoint required
  • Interest in company-level financial analysis/valuation
  • General experience and/or understanding of financial analysis and real estate cash flows preferred
  • Organized and detail-oriented with ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with multiple deadlines, and to adapt readily to changing priorities
  • Strong academics and extracurricular involvement

Schedule 


  • The Finance Intern will occur from June through August 2025. The intern is expected to be in the San Diego office Monday-Thursday, 8AM-5PM. This is a 40 hour/week position, although schedule requirements may be adjusted depending on the needs of the department.

Stipend $25.00 per hour (undergraduate)The above represents the expected salary for this internship. In determining pay, we consider market rates for comparable interns, and may also consider location, experience, and other related factors.
