The Director of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) Markets is responsible for leading the organizations’ distributed energy programs, which provide incentives to consumers to deploy DER. With support from the DER PMO, this work involves day to day program management including budgeting, utilization, staff retention/training/promotion and discipline. This position will work closely with the Senior Director of Distributed Energy Markets, including providing assistance related to business development to bring in new incentive programs that lead to decarbonization focused on equity.
The Director will lead a team of 30 people who work on distinct programs delivering incentives.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the budget and resources for distributed energy programs.
- Oversee the implementation and delivery of distributed energy programs, ensuring that they are on time, on budget, and meet the needs of clients and customers.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, utilities, and other non-profit organizations.
- Develop and lead the organization's distributed energy programs, in alignment with the organization's mission, vision, and core values.
- Identify and develop new incentive programs that lead to decarbonization focused on equity.
- Work with the Senior Director and other senior leaders to develop and implement the organization's strategic plan for distributed energy programs.
- Represent the organization on distributed energy issues at conferences, workshops, and other events.
- Support Senior Director in leading a team of 30 people who work on distinct programs delivering incentives.
Qualifications and Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in managing a team of 30+ people.
- 10+ years of program management.
- 7+ years of experience in distributed energy programs or a related field (preferred).
- Strong understanding of the distributed energy market and the policy landscape.
- Excellent business development and relationship-building skills.
- Proven track record of success in developing and implementing innovative programs.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
