Build the Path Forward

At Path Robotics, we’re attacking a trillion-dollar opportunity - doing things that have never been done before to support an industry hurting from a lack of skilled labor. Big, hard problems are what Path tackles every day and our people are our greatest asset to get that job done. Our intelligent, hardworking team of people do the impossible every single day, yet remain incredibly kind, humble, and always ready to support one another. We are seeking a Solutions Engineer with a deep understanding of manufacturing processes.

This role requires expertise in welding, CAD, and a forward-thinking understanding of how automation enhances and transforms entire manufacturing processes.  As a member of our sales team, you will work closely with the engineering and customer teams to provide tailored solutions that address complex manufacturing challenges. Join us to help revolutionize the future of manufacturing with innovative technology and a customer-first approach.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with the sales team to understand and communicate the technical details of Path Robotics’ products, making informed recommendations to meet customer needs.
  • Serve as a technical advisor for prospects and clients, addressing inquiries and providing troubleshooting assistance.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of customer manufacturing processes, including upstream and downstream workflows, to deliver impactful solutions.
  • Be an expert in our machine learning, computer vision, robotics, sensors, and AI technologies, and their applications in manufacturing.
  • Actively participate in customer engagements to assess application requirements and evaluate how robotic solutions integrate into and improve the manufacturing floor.
  • Drive new business opportunities by leveraging a thorough understanding of customer needs to accelerate tailored solution development.
  • Support the sales process from discovery to closure, application assessment, pipeline management, and final delivery.
  • Gather customer feedback to inform engineering teams about potential product enhancements and new features.
  • Lead and deliver compelling technical presentations that demonstrate product value and suitability for solving specific manufacturing challenges.
  • Run weld parameter selection experiments to identify a range of welding parameters (current, voltage, wire feed speed, travel speed, etc.) for new customer applications.
  • Partner with robotics engineers to develop rules for automating trajectory generation, including positioning the workpiece and robot end-effector.
  • Perform robotic welding experiments to test systems under development, such as sensors, inspection systems, path planning strategies, and hardware.
  • Work with our hardware team to fabricate test coupons for application feasibility testing and other in-house experiments.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Weld Engineering or equivalent experience in related fields working with automation hardware and software.
  • Proficient in programming industrial robotics platforms, including Yaskawa, ABB, Kuka, and Fanuc.
  • Background in fusion-based, primarily MIG (GMAW), weld parameter development for several metal alloys.
  • Experienced with dynamic robotic welding technologies such as adaptive fill, touch sensing, and seam tracking.
  • Proficient with manual welding processes, including GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, and SMAW.
  • Strong understanding of weld symbology and print interpretation.
  • Experienced with Design of Experiment (DoE) principles and metal additive manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks) and simulation software (e.g., Octopuz, MotoSim).
  • Proficiency in ROS (Robot Operating System) is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong internal and external client relationships.
  • Proven experience delivering technical presentations and effectively communicating product value.
  • Adaptable to evolving priorities, technologies, and environments.
  • Minimum of 25% travel required, interfacing and working directly with customers.
  • Excited by the opportunity to join a venture-backed startup early on, where your contributions have a direct and significant impact.
