About the Role


Redhorse transforms how the government uses data and technology. As a Software Engineer, you will play a vital role in developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex software systems that process massive datasets, implement innovative algorithms, and support real-time operations. Your work will directly impact mission-critical applications and contribute to Redhorse's success in delivering cutting-edge solutions to our government clients. This position offers the opportunity to work on challenging and impactful projects, collaborating with a team of experienced professionals.

Key Responsibilities


  • Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
  • Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features.
  • Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.
  • Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories.
  • Debug existing software and correct defects.
  • Write or review software and system documentation.
  • Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components.
  • Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, conferring with users or system engineers, and investigating problem areas.
  • Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, or improve performance.
  • Design, develop, and modify software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models.

Required Experience


  • Fourteen (14) years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university. (Four (4) years of additional SWE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree).
  • TS/SCI with Poly required to start

Desired Experience


  • Experience serving as a team lead in a software development project.
  • Design or implementation of complex database or data repository interfaces/queries.
  • Development or implementation of algorithms adhering to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints.
  • Experience with DataBricks, GitLab, Jira, and Spark.
  • Performance of quality control on team products.
  • Experience overseeing multiple software development teams.
  • Conferring with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements.
  • Coordination of software system installation and monitoring equipment functioning.
