Business Development Manager, Department of Justice.

Planet Technologies is seeking an accomplished and results-driven Business Development Leader to expand our footprint delivering modernization initiatives within the US Department of Justice. This person will have expensive relationships and the ability to leverage cutting-edge technology solutions which drive innovation and efficiency in government operations. Planet is dedicated to transforming the federal landscape with Microsoft solutions that modernize infrastructure, enhance cybersecurity, and promote digital transformation.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the federal landscape as well as skills to adeptly navigate the complicated processes, relationships and nuanced requirements to bring projects into reality.
Responsibilities
- Bring extensive relationships and business acumen to create strategic plans which will expand Planet’s ability to deliver consulting services for Microsoft Technology modernization.
- Identify specific opportunities and collaborate with internal teams to design and present tailored solutions that meet the unique needs of the opportunity then working with our capture team for targeted opportunities, including market analysis, competitive analysis, win strategy development, teaming strategy, and bid/no-bid decisions.
- Contribute to the proposal development process, working with our engineering and proposal teams, to ensure the delivery of compelling, compliant, and competitive proposals.
- Stay current with government policies, trends, and procurement processes to effectively position our services.
- Maintain a working knowledge of Planet and Microsoft technologies and services to effectively communicate their value in a compelling, effective manner
- Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to build a robust pipeline of federal business prospects.
- Provide timely and accurate business forecasts and reports to senior management and effectively move opportunities from identification through delivery effectively.
Skills Required
- 10 years of experience in government consulting experience as well as thought leadership within technical consulting in federal government sector.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft technologies and consulting services and Strong experience with GWACs, IDIQs, BPAs, and other federal contracting vehicles.
- Proven track record of leading and/or managing high-value federal contracts.
- Relationship driven experience that has resulted in increased volume, expanded opportunities and new opportunities
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills as well as an established reputation as an industry expert
- Ability to navigate complex government modernization projects and influence decision-makers at all levels.
- A deep understanding of the unique needs, procurement processes, and strategic initiatives of the department and sub-components within the Department of Justice
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to client satisfaction.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Technology, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is helpful
- Experience specifically working with the Department of Justice is a significant benefit.
- Top-Secret Clearance is helpful

Salaries for BD Managers at Planet Technologies range from $80,000 and $180,000. Several factors will impact final pay offered to a successful candidate including but not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, clearance level, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, training, etc.The availability of annual bonuses and the amount of any such bonus will be subject to several factors that may include but are not limited to the company’s success during the year and the individual’s performance.
