About the Role


As the Director of Brand Marketing at KOHO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the brand strategy to elevate KOHO's presence in the Canadian fintech market. This position requires a seasoned marketing professional with a strong background across integrated marketing and creative management. As an experienced leader, this role will be instrumental in building and enhancing the brand’s presence in the market, ensuring it aligns with the company’s mission while resonating with our target audience.

This position will report directly into the CMO and manage a team of integrated marketers and creative professionals.

What You'll Do


Brand Strategy and Positioning:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive brand marketing plans that align with KOHO's overall business objectives.
  • Ensure consistency in brand messaging and positioning across all channels with the development and maintenance of brand guidelines.
  • Measure and analyze the impact of brand activation efforts.

Advertising and Creative Development:

  • Oversee the creation and execution of impactful advertising campaigns to drive brand awareness and customer engagement.
  • Deliver breakthrough creative concepts and creative stewardship
  • Manage internal teams and external agencies to develop compelling and breakthrough creative content.
  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance metrics to optimize future marketing efforts.

Public Relations:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, influencers, and industry stakeholders.
  • Manage PR strategy and outreach  across initiatives to secure positive media coverage and enhance KOHO's reputation/earned footprint in the market.

Social Media Management:

  • Oversee the development and execution of social media programs, ensuring alignment with overall brand goals.
  • Monitor social media trends, engage with the online community, and identify opportunities for brand promotion.
  • Build and maintain a scalable advocacy program .

Brand Activation:

  • Conceptualize and execute brand activation events and initiatives to connect with the target audience.
  • Develop partner opportunities for expanded brand presence and customer engagement.

Team Management and Mentorship:

  • Lead and inspire a high-performing marketing team, providing guidance and mentorship.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work culture within the marketing department.

Who You Are


  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in brand marketing/creative management, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in a senior brand marketing role, preferably in the fintech or financial services industry.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills with a track record of successful brand development.
  • Excellent leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated success in executing impactful advertising and PR campaigns.
  • In-depth knowledge of social media platforms and trends.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

At KOHO, we are dedicated to providing pay transparency to all candidates. Compensation at KOHO is determined through various factors including but not limited to: comparable salary market data within Canada, technical skill assessment, a holistic view of previous work history, and internal pay equity with other KOHO team members.Target Base Salary Range$150,000 - $180,000CAD
