We are looking for a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with deep expertise in PostgreSQL and managing cloud-based database systems, particularly in AWS environments. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in database architecture, optimization, and maintenance, with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and reliability. This role also provides an opportunity to expand into DevOps practices, focusing on automation, infrastructure as code, and database integration within modern CI/CD pipelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Database Architecture: Design, deploy, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance database systems.
- Optimization: Enhance database performance through indexing, query optimization, and schema design improvements.
- Automation: Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices for database deployment and management using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- Monitoring: Set up and manage database monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) to ensure system health and availability.
- Security: Implement and maintain robust database security measures, including access control, encryption, and compliance adherence.
- Backup & Recovery: Develop and manage database backup, replication, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Scaling: Plan and execute database scaling strategies for high-traffic environments.
- Work with DevOps and development teams to integrate database systems into scalable and automated infrastructure
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in database administration with expertise in cloud environments like AWS.
- Proven track record managing large-scale, production-grade database systems.
- Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
- Experience with database monitoring, performance tuning, and query optimization.
- Familiarity with AWS database services (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift).
- Expertise in scripting (Python, Bash) for automation.
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Experience or interest in DevOps tools and practices (CI/CD pipelines, Terraform)
