Happy Returns, a UPS company, provides end-to-end returns solutions for online merchants and shoppers through a unique combination of returns software plus reverse logistics. We delight shoppers by enabling box-free drop offs at a nationwide network of Return Bar locations. Returns are aggregated and shipped using reusable totes, reducing costs for merchants and improving sustainability. As a Senior Financial Analyst at Happy Returns, you will play a crucial role in the financial planning and analysis of our business.
Your main responsibility will be to analyze financial data and provide recommendations to management on how to improve the company's financial performance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams such as Operations, Sales, and Marketing to gather insights and develop forecasts that will drive business growth. You will play a critical role in supporting the Accounting team in month-end closes. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a talented individual with a strong analytical mindset and a passion for financial excellence. Responsibilities: FP&A:
- Support the development of annual budgets and monthly forecasts by analyzing financial data, working with cross-functional teams, and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Develop financial models and proactively look for ways to improve existing models and processes.
- Support monthly financial reporting by providing analysis of financial results in comparison with expectations and past performance. Perform variance analysis and identify key insights and trends to make recommendations for improvement.
- Conduct custom pricing analyses by developing tailored models and evaluating merchant data to optimize revenue and meet merchant objectives.
- Develop and manage forecasts for sales commissions, ensuring alignment with company targets and compensation plans, while tracking and reconciling actual payouts to ensure timely and accurate disbursements to the sales team.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis to support functional teams across the business to drive decision making and support business activities.
- Ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.
Accounting:
- Work under the supervision of the Accounting Managers to assist Accounting team with month-end processes, including preparation of reporting and analysis to support journal entries.
- May assist Accounting team with special projects from time to time as needs arise and bandwidth allows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in financial analysis.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
- Knowledge of financial software and systems (e.g., Netsuite, Oracle, OneStream).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality financial analysis and insights.
