Position Summary
We seek a detail-oriented Junior Data Engineer to join our data science team. The Junior Data Engineer assists in the designing, building, and maintaining ETL pipelines, processes documentation, and data validation/integrity to support business analytics and reporting needs. This role will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure clarity of all business requirements
Essential Functions
- Assist in developing data ingestion processes and onboarding additional data vendors/providers.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure data accuracy.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows.
- Support the implementation of ETL pipelines.
- Assist in Managing and optimizing databases, data warehouses
- Support implementing and rolling out ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
- Participate in data validation, integrity, and consistency.
- Assist with the construction and maintenance of reporting dashboards.
- Participate in the documentation of existing and new workflows and processes.
- Work in existing code bases and conform to coding standards found within.
- Stay current on emerging trends and technologies in data engineering and analytics.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field with equivalent practical experience.
- Understanding of SQL and MySQL database concepts.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or PHP.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS and the data services provided.
- Understanding of data warehouse concepts.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Willingness to explore and learn different programming systems or technologies as needed.
Good Skills to Have
- Experience with APIs (REST or SOAP)
- Experience or knowledge with both Object-Oriented Programming and Procedural Programming is a plus.
- Experience with visualization and reporting tools like PowerBI.
- Knowledge of version control systems like Git or SVN.
- Experience with Databricks is a plus.
- Experience with Excel and other MS Office suite of programs.
- Experience with PHP is a plus.
- Experience with Python and package libraries Pandas or Spark is a plus.
- Experience with Real Estate Data
