The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five to ten years’ experience working as a consultant or at a college/university as a Banner Technical Analyst responsible for the Ellucian Banner® product. The Banner Technical Analyst II position is highly technical in nature. The position involves working to assess, recommend, build, deliver, train and support solutions to emerging business needs, primarily by supporting the use of the Ellucian Banner environment and associated applications.
These applications include, but are not limited to, Banner 9, ESM, ETHOS, DegreeWorks, ODS, EDW, Workflow, BDMS, UC4, BEP, and EEI. The Banner Technical Analyst may also serve as a main point of contact for customizations, integrations, and required technologies in support of Banner and its components. Candidates should be highly proactive and driven to continuously improve the quality of the services provided to customers.
Primary Responsibilities, Essential Functions and Requirements:
- Develops, implements, codes and maintains interfaces from Banner to third party applications.
- Analyzes, defines, and documents requirements for: data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs.
- Researches and evaluates software and hardware to assist in programming or to use as program platforms.
- Designs, analyzes, codes, documents, and implements applications that support, enhance and integrate with the ERP – Banner such as ESM, ETHOS, Degree Works, ODS, EDW, Workflow, BDMS, UC4, BEP, and EEI.
- Provides ongoing support of enterprise and related applications, as well as functional and technical problem resolution.
- Maintains and supports application related systems/servers to ensure minimal downtime and loss of productivity and service.
- Adhere to and enforce the appropriate information security policies based on the sensitivity of company data and report any security related issues.
- Reduce risk of theft, fraud, or misuse of information assets by acting as the data steward for the application(s) you administer.
Requirements
- Five or more years of programming experience.
- Strong computer programming and logic skills, including SQL and PL/SQL.
- Thorough understanding of the technical architecture of the Ellucian Banner® software suite, including the latest release – Banner 9 and Self-Service Banner 9.
- Demonstrated experience supporting the integration and maintenance of third-party applications that integrate with the Banner® ERP. Examples include TouchNet, Cashnet, Nelnet, Kronos, Evisions Suite and learning management systems such as Blackboard Learn, Canvas, or Moodle.
- Experience with tools such as GIT, Ellucian Solution Manager (ESM), Application Navigator, Banner 9 Admin Pages and Self-Service, and Ellucian Ethos Identity and Integration services.
- Ability to quickly and accurately troubleshoot issues and offer effective solutions.
- A demonstrated understanding of application single sign-on for Banner 9.
- Ability to manage multiple complex and time sensitive projects simultaneously
- Experience with and ability to develop and follow change management procedures and guidelines.
- Understanding of data structures.
Education, Certifications and Licensures:
- Bachelor of Science, Computer Science, MIS degree, or equivalent experience
