Summary:
The Senior Optoelectronic Engineer will be a member of the Product Development team and responsible for the development and optimization of optical and mechanical test systems to evaluate Pixelligent products’ impact on next generation consumer electronics applications (e.g. displays, waveguides for AR headsets, and sensors). This role will also provide technical support to our sales and marketing teams and will work closely with cross-functional teams to design and execute experiments, analyze data, and communicate results.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Other duties may be assigned · Focused on developing optical and optoelectronic test systems and demonstrators, generating device level data for our customers· Experienced in applying formulations as thin films via spin coat, inkjet or slot-die methods· Experienced in basic thin film characterization methods (e.g. transmission/reflection, ellipsometry, prism coupling, profilometry, nanoindentation, AFM/SEM)· Optoelectronic device-level characterization· Qualifying formulations to meet customer requirements, utilizing knowledge of chemical structure-property relationships and formulation science principles.· Experience in nanoimprint lithography or photolithography is a plus.· Conduct laboratory experiments, including designing and executing experiments, analyzing data, and documenting results.· Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and manufacturing, to provide technical support and ensure successful product development and launch.· Conduct literature searches and stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies.· Write technical reports, prepare presentations, and communicate results to both internal and external stakeholders.· Follow good laboratory practices, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities now but may offer growth opportunities for leadership roles in the future.Requirements
Education and/or Experience:
1. PhD or Master’s Degree in Photonics, Optics, Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Material Science or related field.2. Minimum of five (5) years of relevant industry experience photonics or optoelectronics.3. Experience with standard polymer physical property characterization tools such as TMA, DMA, tensile testing, rheology, and experience with standard chemical property analytical methods such as IR spectroscopy, UV-vis.4.
