Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Junior Economic Consultant with expertise or a strong interest in workforce development to join our dynamic team in Richmond (VA). The successful candidate will play a crucial role in conducting economic research, analyzing labor market trends, and fostering innovative solutions that address evolving industry needs. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects and collaborate with top-tier professionals in the field. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, an excellent writer, nimble, able to multitask, and work well with colleagues and clients.
This is for a hybrid position. Requirements
- Master’s degree (or higher) in economics, applied economics, or other quantitative fields with a strong economics background.
- Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion in a timely manner.
- Excellent computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite with high proficiency in Excel).
- Foundational knowledge of economics and strong quantitative skills.
- Familiarity with labor market data.
- Five years of work experience in the field.
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with applying and communicating economic theory.
- Knowledge of R, RATS, Tableau, Visual Basic, Python, GIS, SQL a plus.
- Proficiency in non-technical writing
- Experience in intermediate statistics/applied econometrics or forecasting.
- Project management experience.
Responsibilities:
- Research local, regional, and national economic issues and provide consultation to solve problems. Make recommendations on workforce strategic initiatives and implementation plans.
- Manage projects internally and externally, ensuring deliverables are met in a timely manner to the client’s specifications.
- Engage with clients while performing research and analysis and while presenting findings.
- Build reports and presentations that efficiently communicate Chmura’s findings in a clear format to a variety of clients with different backgrounds.
- Research, refine, and execute economic analysis methodologies based on existing best practices.
- Identify and evaluate requests for proposals (RFPs); scope, develop, compose, and refine proposals and statements of work (SOW) based on clients’ needs.
- Collect, organize, and evaluate data relating to economic issues for input in macro/regional models.
- Deliver presentations based on Chmura’s research.
- Lead complex research projects with multiple team members, coordinating tasks and assignments, and managing overall project progress.
