THE GIST…
The Technical Lead is responsible for ensuring that all technical work complies with policy guidelines across technical, security, and IT domains. This role requires a skilled leader with deep expertise in a range of technical areas, from Java and CICD to Kubernetes, AWS, and site reliability engineering (SRE). The Technical Lead will manage Infrastructure and Integration teams to ensure they deliver high-quality work aligned with client requirements and industry best practices. This role also requires building strong rapport with government customers to understand their objectives, provide technical guidance, and foster an effective collaborative environment.
WHAT YOUR DAY MIGHT INCLUDE…
- Ensure that all technical work performed by Infrastructure and Integration teams adheres to relevant technical, security, and IT policy guidelines.
- Lead and manage project requirements, design, development, testing, implementation, and documentation for system enhancements to meet both functional and business needs.
- Build and maintain strong rapport with government customers, promoting open communication, collaboration, and a shared understanding of objectives and expectations.
- Guide Infrastructure and Integration teams in the application of technical skills across a broad technology stack, including Java, Jenkins CICD, Kubernetes, and AWS services.
- Ensure the effective use of tools and methodologies such as alerting and monitoring, infrastructure-application logging, code automation, code quality tools, and secrets management.
- Provide expertise in using Development/Test Tool Suites and Infrastructure Maintenance Operations to enhance technical efficiency and project outcomes.
- Apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to optimize system reliability and minimize downtime, promoting resilience in infrastructure design and deployment.
- Lead teams in implementing UXD/IxD development methodologies, ensuring that user experience and interaction design standards are met across all products and services.
- Evaluate emerging technical trends, tools, and frameworks to recommend improvements to infrastructure, architecture, and technical processes, supporting both immediate needs and long-term business goals.
- Provide strategic input on the technical landscape and architecture, fostering an environment that encourages continuous improvement and adaptation to new technologies.
- Ensure all technical processes and systems are thoroughly documented, providing guidance and documentation support as needed to maintain accurate, up-to-date records.
- Lead the development of training materials and sessions to enhance team members' technical knowledge and understanding of key tools and processes.
Requirements
YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS…
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in technical leadership, preferably within federal or government contracting environments.
- Proven experience with Java, Jenkins CICD, Kubernetes, GitHub, application monitoring, AWS services, and secrets management.
- Strong knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and Infrastructure Maintenance Operations.
- Experience with UXD/IxD development methodologies and infrastructure support for UX/UI-focused systems.
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport with government customers, fostering collaboration and mutual understanding.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset for evaluating technical solutions and infrastructure improvements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with government IT and security policy compliance.
- Knowledge of automated testing, code quality, and logging tools.
- Experience in infrastructure and code automation, and capacity for scaling operations.
- Enthusiasm for continuous learning, adapting to technological trends, and enhancing team technical capabilities.
