The ideal candidate will have 1 to 5 years of experience in an electrical shop environment, a solid understanding of industry best practices and standards, quality control procedures, and strong proficiency in electrical/control assemblies.
The Shop Manager will oversee daily shop operations, ensuring high-quality production and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of the shop, including planning, organizing, and directing the team’s activities to ensure efficient workflow and timely project delivery.
- Supervise and mentor a team of technicians, electricians, and assemblers to ensure quality workmanship, safety, and adherence to deadlines.
- Oversee the assembly, wiring, and testing of electrical assemblies, ensuring adherence to customer specifications and quality standards.
- Implement and maintain quality control processes, inspecting work for accuracy and conformance to specifications. Troubleshoot any production issues and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.
- Manage inventory of materials and supplies needed for panel production. Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and coordinate with procurement.
- Work closely with the engineering and sales teams to understand project requirements and communicate progress or issues to customers as necessary.
- Enforce and maintain a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with company safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality.
Requirements:
- 1 to 5 years of experience in an electrical assembly shop or related electrical manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of various electrical standards and regulations.
- High proficiency in assembling and wiring electrical assemblies, with a keen eye for detail and quality.
- Demonstrated experience in managing or supervising a production team.
- Solid understanding of electrical components, wiring, and troubleshooting.
- Proven experience in implementing and maintaining quality control procedures.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with PLCs, automation systems, or control systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with other electrical standards such as UL, NEC, and IEC.
- Certification in electrical safety or quality control (e.g., NCE or similar certifications).
