What will this role entail?
As an Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with budget and close processes and maintaining accounts payable documentation. You will also be assisting accounting management as needed and respond to information requests by management and for auditing purposes.To be successful an Accountant on our team, you should be able to accurately maintain a general ledger and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and IFRS. You will report to the Vice President of Corporate Finance who is based in Dallas, Texas, USA.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
- Preparing journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly close processes.
- Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Meeting processing and reporting deadlines.
- Responding to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits.
- Ensuring compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
- Maintaining AP Accruals
- Amortization
- Managing Intercompany transactions and reconciliations
- Posting all Cash transactions in the general ledger that are not automatically posted in the system.
- Other duties as required.
What's required?
- BCom in Accounting or Finance
- CA certification preferred
- 2-4+ years of professional experience in a shared service environment
- Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP. Knowledge of IFRS is a plus
- Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and v-lookups
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience with Microsoft BC preferred however can consider experience with other Microsoft ERP such as SL, GP or Dynamics
- Good problem solving and time management skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Fast and accurate data entry
- Reconciliation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
