OVERALL PURPOSE


We’re looking for an experienced and dynamic Head of Marketing to lead our brand, content, and product marketing initiatives. The role requires a strategic, collaborative and hands-on leader who can effectively work with others to craft and execute marketing strategies that drive awareness, consideration, and conversion while aligning with our core brand values. You will play a pivotal role in shaping Lula’s market positioning and ensuring our products resonate deeply with SMEs. By leveraging your expertise, you’ll help us amplify our impact, fostering meaningful connections with South African Business Owners.

As the Head of Marketing at Lula, your role will involve:


Brand Marketing:


  • Develop and execute brand strategies that strengthen Lula's position as a trusted fintech partner for SMEs
  • Oversee brand consistency across all channels and touchpoints
  • Lead initiatives to enhance market awareness and brand affinity

Content Marketing:


  • Drive content strategies that educate, inspire, and engage our target audience.
  • Oversee the creation of high-quality, relevant, and impactful content across blogs, social media, email, and other channels.
  • Utilize storytelling to communicate Lula’s value proposition effectively

Product Marketing:


  • Lead go-to-market strategies for new products, ensuring alignment with customer needs and business goals
  • Collaborate with product teams to define messaging, positioning, and value propositions
  • Drive adoption and retention strategies through innovative campaigns

Strategy and Performance:


  • Develop data-driven marketing plans to achieve KPIs around awareness, consideration, and conversion
  • Leverage customer insights and market data to inform strategy
  • Measure and report on campaign performance, iterating for continuous improvement

Leadership:


  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing marketing team.
  • Foster collaboration across cross-functional teams, including product, sales, and customer success

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR


  • Grade 12 achieved
  • Degree in relevant field would be highly advantageous
  • Proven experience (7+ years) in marketing, with a strong focus on brand, content, and product marketing
  • Experience working in the SME or finance space is highly desirable
  • Track record of creating high-impact strategies that drive awareness, consideration, and conversion
  • Strong analytical capability with a data-driven approach to decision-making
  • Excellent leadership and team-building abilities
  • Superior communication skills, with an aptitude for storytelling and persuasive messaging
