We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive
Junior Accountant to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow their career in accounting while gaining valuable experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and supervising clerical staff. Responsibilities:
- Perform basic accounting functions, including preparing and managing budgets, generating invoices, creating and processing purchase orders, and preparing financial position reports such as balance sheets and income statements.
- Demonstrate proficiency in various financial and accounting software applications to ensure efficient data entry, reporting, and analysis.
- Review and reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with established procedures and regulatory standards.
- Monitor compliance with tax regulations, including sales tax and VAT, and assist with audit preparation and inquiries.
- Assist in preparing financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Analyze and interpret financial statements to provide accurate insights to leadership, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Supervise and provide guidance to clerical accounting staff, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve financial discrepancies and improve processes.
- Represent the accounting lead or supervisor in their absence, addressing financial or operational concerns as needed.
- Stay updated on best practices, industry trends, and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and implement process improvements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field, or 4 years of related experience.
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, theories, and practices.
- Familiarity with standard office practices and accounting procedures.
- Ability to prepare detailed and accurate accounting reports.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency with accounting software and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar platforms).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
