We are seeking an experienced Build/Automation Engineer to join our dynamic Software Infrastructure team. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to manage, maintain, and enhance automated processes that drive efficiency and innovation across our software development lifecycle.The primary workplace for this position is Aechelon Technology’s South San Francisco Headquarters. This position requires working onsite at our South San Francisco office 2–3 days per week, with the flexibility to work from home on the remaining days.United States citizenship required due to restrictions on access to certain data.

Primary Tasks:


  • Maintain, improve, and create automated processes
  • Assist with third-party library integration and updates
  • Collaborate with engineers, testers, and artists to automate and manage processes in their workflow

Minimum Requirements:


  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python
  • Experience with C/C++ build systems such as MSBuild and CMake
  • Knowledge of software configuration management tools such as Perforce and Git
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex issues
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Eligibility to work with export-controlled technology

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Strong understanding of automation tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, and Travis CI
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of build, test, and release automation principles and patterns
  • Experience with configuration management and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Experience with agile development methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban
  • Experience with packaging systems like pip and vcpkg
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems
  • Knowledge of software development best practices

$105,000 - $180,000 a yearThe above range is specific to CALIFORNIA and may not be applicable to other locations. The pay scale for this role is between $105,000 - $180,000. Final compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.This position description is not intended to be a complete listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee holding this position.
