Job Responsibilities:


The OEM Technical Manager will be responsible for the full sale-cycle activity for all current and potential machine tool manufacturer and dealer accounts. You will work with our internal support departments, cutting tool specialist, sales engineers, and our external suppliers to provide various manufacturing solutions to the specified account base. You will have an instrumental role in writing the growth strategy playbook for machine tool engagement in both a domestic and international sales focus.We provide cutting tool manufacturing solutions across various industry verticals, included but not limited to, such as:

  • Medical
  • Aerospace
  • Automotive
  • Oil and Gas
  • Sporting Goods
  • Electric Vehicles
  • General Engineering

Other duties include, but are not limited to:


  • Developing new and strengthen existing relationships with customers, prospects, and suppliers
  • Generating opportunities for quotation by providing continuous support and recommendations to new and existing customers
  • Managing projects, demonstrations, and other customer related events to meet deadlines and budgets
  • Entering activity into the CRM system (Salesforce.com)
  • Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of the machine tool industry and both standard and special product lines represented by the company
  • Develop and maintain relationships with machine tool builders and machine tool distributors nation wide
  • Participates and/or leads technology and product presentations in cooperation with sales for customers
  • Coordinate and support trade shows and events
  • Works hand-in-hand with Marketing Group to develop customer and market specific workshops and specific training events
  • Specify and quote tooling packages for turnkey projects and machine demonstrations
  • Negotiate tooling packages for turnkey projects
  • Optimize cutting process and tool life via tool geometry/coatings, cutting data and tool path strategies
  • Conduct tool test cuts with machine tool builders and customer/end users
  • Develop machine demonstrations with application engineers
  • Engage and be a thought leader in custom solutions with our tool design engineers
  • Inform sales team of new equipment and tooling being commissioned in each territory
  • Report to management all machine tool builder and distributor activity and developments

Technical Requirements:


  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Working knowledge of PCs in the current company operating system environment
  • Working knowledge CAD/CAM/ERP computer systems
  • Complete understanding of manufacturing processes for carbide, PCD, CBN, indexable, and round cutting tool manufacturing
  • 1-3 years of experience as a Technical Sales Engineer or Technical Support in the cutting tool or CNC machining industry is preferred
  • University degree in an engineering discipline; or equivalent
  • Three plus years of experience as part of or managing teams of Production, Program and/or Process Engineers for Machine Tool Manufacturer (MTM) or Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) service provider in CNC equipment is desired
