We are seeking an Industrial Engineer to support an Army Program Office in PEO Missile and Space in the application of Industrial Engineering concepts, techniques, analysis, and decision tools to provide oversight and analysis of production operations and processes carried out by Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM). This position will be responsible for advising the government customer on the quality, effectiveness, and cost of OEM production activities and identifying opportunities for improvement in those processes.

Key Responsibilities Include:


  • Provides expert analysis and metrics for consultation to major commands and installations.
  • Ensures the execution of research, design, development, improvement, and implementation of processes to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, through the expert application of Lean and advanced Industrial Engineering concepts for large scale systems integration and asset utilization. 
  • Performs evaluations of OEM and sub-tier proposals using data driven methods to establish recommendations for contract negotiations. 
  • Support contract negotiations to provide technical guidance on reasonable expectations from the OEMs to ensure fair and reasonable settlements.
  • Manages, defines, negotiates, and controls the scope, cost, and timing of projects, and direct the use of project management tools (e.g., work break-down structure, precedence network, resource allocation).
  • Provides support to Project Office in the use of engineering methods (e.g., mathematical models, simulation, statistics) to develop optimal process designs and efficient utilization of resources (e.g., facilities, personnel, materials, equipment) in the creation and validation of products.
  • Leads the analysis and design of the value stream, including capability, capacity (e.g., make/buy, supplier selection, risk analysis, supplier performance), throughput, workflow and logistics (e.g., critical path, lead-time, transportation, factory layout).
  • Assists in the identification and selection of new production equipment and systems required to meet production needs.
  • Verifies compliance to First Article Inspection, Design Review, and acceptance testing requirements.

Required:


  • ABET accredited BS in Engineering field.
  • Minimum 8 years direct work experience.
  • Knowledge of industrial engineering principles, standards, and practices (LEAN manufacturing and Six Sigma).
  • Approximately 25% travel is anticipated for this position.
