TFC Consulting is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Federal Budget Support Specialists to provide essential assistance in federal budget formulation, execution, and reporting processes. This role is critical in ensuring the effective allocation and management of resources to support organizational priorities and compliance with financial policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate in the preparation and review of budget proposals, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and strategic plans.
- Research OMB Circulars, and guidelines established for the administrative programs- the A-11, Preparation, Submission, and Execution of the Budget, and the A-123.
- Monitor financial obligations and expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budgets.
- Assist in the development of financial reports, including the status of funds and other analyses for stakeholders.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses and evaluate program effectiveness to support decision-making.
- Support internal audits and reviews, ensuring accuracy and adherence to budgetary regulations.
- Provide input for financial forecasting, analyzing trends, and preparing projections to inform planning.
- Assist in the development and refinement of financial policies and procedures to promote compliance and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, public administration, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in budgeting, financial analysis, or a similar role.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in using financial management tools and systems.
- Knowledge of budgetary principles and guidance (e.g., OMB Circular A-11, Antideficiency Act, etc.), financial reporting (OMB Circular A-136), and related compliance standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with stakeholders at various levels.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working within a governmental or non-profit organization.
- Familiarity with financial systems such as SAP or Oracle.
- Knowledge of federal appropriations processes and regulations.
