Sr. Accounting Specialist (TEMPORARY)

This position is responsible for applying principles of accounting and maintaining the established accounting control policies and procedures in daily activities.  This includes supporting multiple accounting functions, such as preparing and analyzing billing documents, reviewing debit and credit memos, and creating and performing initial review of journal entries.   Additional duties include ensuring the appropriate completion of accounting responsibilities, creating and producing reports, and assisting accountants on special projects as necessary.

Job Requirements 


  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare timely entries to general ledger accounts.
  • Provide key support for the month-end close process in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Identify, investigate, and explain account variances related to billing and payment disciplines.
  • Prepare support and documentation for complex accounting functions.
  • Prepare reconciliations of various general ledger accounts with explanations.
  • Assist with compilation and preparation of forecast and budgets for subject expert areas.
  • Compile and maintain various financial schedules and reports. 
  • Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures.
  • Maintain safety, security, and privacy standards throughout all areas of responsibility.

Knowledge


  • Knowledge of accounting functions. 

Skills


  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel (i.e. VLookup and pivot tables), and Outlook.

Other Essential Requirements 


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or other relevant field.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of prior experience.
