What You Will Get to Do:
Market Analysis
Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape.Analyze customer needs and preferences to shape business strategies.
Relationship Management
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and industry influencers.Act as a liaison between scientific teams and clients to ensure alignment on projects.
Business Development
Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, cold calling, and attending industry events.Prepare and present compelling proposals to potential clients and partners.
Strategic Planning
Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute strategic business plans that align with company goals.Contribute to the long-term vision for the organization based on scientific advancements and market needs.
Negotiation and Closing
Lead negotiations on contracts, agreements, and partnerships to secure profitable business deals.Monitor and report on the progress of business development initiatives.
Collaboration with Scientific Teams:
Work closely with R&D teams to stay informed about ongoing projects and innovations.Provide insights from the market to guide product development and enhancements.
To be Successful in this role:
You should have transitioned from academia to business development and/or research account management, and cultivated and managed relationships with key academic institutions, and created relationships with Academic, Biopharma, and Nonprofit clients.
Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field (e.g., biology, chemistry, biotechnology) or related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in business development or sales within the scientific or biotechnology industry.
- Strong understanding of scientific concepts and the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
