Senior Network Engineer

Position Overview
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for day-to-day network infrastructure and server operations as well as assisting with IT HelpDesk as a Level 3 resource.
Key Responsibilities
- Network Design & Implementation:
- Plan, configure, implement and support scalable, and secure network solutions to meet business needs.
- Evaluate new technologies and recommend upgrades or replacements for legacy systems.
- Network Administration:
- Manage, monitor, and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and cloud-based networks.
- Oversee configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Security & Compliance:
- Implement and maintain network security protocols, including firewalls, intrusion prevention/detection systems (IPS/IDS), and VPNs.
- Ensure compliance with relevant security standards, such as PCI.
- Troubleshooting & Optimization:
- Proactively identify and resolve network performance issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Conduct root cause analysis for network outages and implement corrective actions.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Develop and maintain detailed network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
- Generate reports on network performance and security metrics.
- Collaboration & Leadership:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support IT initiatives and projects.
- Work with vendors to ensure timely deliverables and positive outcomes.
- Responsible for infrastructure installation and maintenance, patch management for network equipment and servers, Opti9 backup and Opti9 DR Testing, and configuration of all hardware in Zoho Site 24x7.
- Responsible to provide daily monitoring of Zoho Site 24x7, open tickets based on outages, work to resolve incidents and report incidents in daily scrum.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering, with a focus on enterprise-level networks.
- Advanced knowledge of routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) and switching technologies (e.g., VLAN, STP, VTP).
- Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and network security tools (e.g., Cisco preferred).
- Proficiency in network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Wireshark, Site 24x7).
- Strong understanding of cloud networking (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and SD-WAN technologies.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Preferred Certifications:
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or higher (e.g., CCIE).
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent.
- AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty (or similar cloud certifications).
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Leadership and mentoring capabilities.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
The employee may be required to perform the essential functions of the job during evening and weekend concerts and/or events.
- Must be able to sit, stand, lift, carry weight, kneel, bend, and grip tools during a full 8 hour shift.
- Must be able to work all shifts, and weekends/holidays as required.
- Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite.
