The Opportunity


This position serves a critical role in driving successful deal closure and and future growth in India, in close collaboration with sales. Our ideal candidate will have subject matter experience designing and driving consultative solutions to address clients' data and database centric business challenges in their organization. He or she needs to possess domain knowledge and maintain flexibility to successfully contribute to seamless execution of multiple sales cycles.There will also be a heads-down need to organize, create, and lighthouse content individually.

You will develop and lead presentations, web conferences, white-papers, workflows, and RFP/RFI's. If you have the technical sophistication, proven mastery in a database centric senior support engineer role, and an appetite for a dynamic role in a startup environment, we'd love to speak with you.

Responsibilities


  • Work directly with customers, partners and sales leadership to bring deals to fruition. (This is a role for someone with a bias for action, ready to roll up their sleeves!)
  • Standardization and creation of sales engineering related best practices.
  • Leverage your high level of sales acumen and enterprise technology expertise on a daily basis.
  • Partner closely with the global sales organization, to prioritize resources that put us in the best position to make our targets.
  • GTM: Reaching, assessing client pain-points and needs, and following through with the best solutions.
  • Successfully manage stakeholders at all levels, CIOs / CTOs / CXOs & developers, to developers, understanding limitations but trying not to take a "no, we can't do this" anyway.
  • Experience across channel sales from ISVs to vendors and consultancies.
  • Travel throughout India as needed to support sales efforts and help grow the scope of opportunities, engineer tangible solutions for customers, and assist in driving deal closures.
  • The ability and willingness to hire, mentor, and develop Sales / Systems Engineers based on company objectives.

Qualifications


  • 8 to 10 years of hands-on, Senior Sales Engineer experience
  • Pre-sales engineering leadership experience, focused on organizational growth & development and the ability to hire and retain high-performing sales engineers.
  • Strong Database or Database Architecture skills (MariaDB or MySQL strongly preferred).
  • A working understanding of other database and open source technologies.
  • Experience succesfully leading complex customer POC engagements.
  • Experience collaborating with customer success and field teams in customer orientation efforts.
  • The ability and willingness to travel as needed, along with working off-hours when required.
  • The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, combined with a high level of organization.
  • Very strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Fundamental knowledge of programming languages, web stack technologies, etc.
  • Experience working 100% remotely with regional travel as required.
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in a related field

Bonus Experience and Skills


  • Experience with pre-sales in an open-source software environment
  • Experience with pre-sales in a SaaS or managed services environment
  • Cloud engineering / public cloud experience
  • History of public speaking and writing (blogs and articles)
