The Product Development Engineering Summer Intern will be responsible for Working directly with PD Engineering Department, providing support for engineering development, manufacturing related issues, engineering changes, and new model development. This position will report to aProduct Development Manager andis based at our World Headquarters and Technical Center inFarmington Hills, Michigan. Compensation dependent upon qualifications.Job Description: Product Development Engineering Summer InternIncluding but not limited to:Key Responsibilities:
- Work directly with PD Engineering Department, providing support for engineering development, manufacturing related issues, engineering changes, and new model development
- Lead and develop special projects with PD Engineering oversight
- Interface with cross functional teams to implement design improvement actions
- May include driveshaft assembly teardowns and failure analysis of durability/warranty claims
- May include the creation of and team review of Engineering Technical Reports (post-test, DVP&R test plans, & DFMEA)
- Create and present summer project to Neapco’s Management Team
- Participate in social and networking opportunities
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
- Good organizational skills
- Minimal local travel may be required
- Experience with CAD (beneficial)
- Understand gage requirements (beneficial)
- Competent in GD&T (beneficial)
Education:
- Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, preferred)
