Role Overview:
The Construction Manager will manage and oversee construction activities for the Treated Sewage Effluent (TSE) project, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, safety protocols, and project goals. This role involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams, monitoring construction progress, and addressing on-site challenges in urban environments. The Construction Manager will report to the Construction Director and play a key role in achieving project objectives within timelines and budget constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist the Construction Director in planning, implementing, and supervising all constructionactivities related to TSE projects.• Ensure alignment with project timelines, budgets, and goals through comprehensiveconstruction plans and schedules.• Supervise contractors and site activities to maintain adherence to quality standards andtechnical specifications.• Collaborate with engineering and procurement teams to integrate construction processesseamlessly.• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, address on-site issues, and ensuresafety compliance.• Prepare and present detailed progress reports for senior management and stakeholders.• Identify risks and develop mitigation plans to minimize disruptions to project schedules.• Build and maintain strong working relationships with contractors and stakeholders.• Promote a culture of safety and environmental awareness across all construction activities.
Experience and Skills Required:
• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Civil, Mechanical, or Construction Engineering (or related fields) with over 15 years of relevant design and supervision experience in large-scale water infrastructure projects, OR• Master of Science (MSc) in Civil, Mechanical, or Construction Engineering (or related fields) with over 12 years of relevant design and supervision experience in large-scale water infrastructure projects.• Degree from Western accredited University.• Membership of chartered institutions.• Knowledge of water infrastructure construction management principles, scheduling, and budgeting.• Experience in managing and supervising urban infrastructure development projects, including pipelines, pumping stations, and tanks.• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in infrastructure complex projects in a PMC environment.• Good communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with local regulations and industry standards for water infrastructure projects.• Experience with Treated Sewage Effluent (TSE) systems or similar urban water projects.• Experience in the construction of water infrastructure projects.
