We are actively recruiting for an energetic, high-potential Shipping Associate to join our growing team. We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented individual with the ability to work well as part of a collaborative team. The Shipping Associate prepares, packages and ships products in accordance with company requirements and shipping procedures ensuring orders are processed and shipped in an accurately and timely manner. This is a full time, first shift position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1-3 year previous experience shipping with UPS and FedEx Small Parcel.
- Experience scheduling trucks via LTL and PLS.
- International shipping experience is highly desirable
- Computer skills; able to learn new programs easily such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Prior experience using an ERP system a plus
- Experience tracking and resolving shipping issues with carriers.
- Conduct work in compliance with OSHA and company safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions in English
- Basic understanding of an ERP system
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal; must be able to read, write and speak English.
- Strong organizational skills and flexibility to work successfully on a variety of jobs in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently to accomplish tasks, while also having strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with others.
- Must possess a positive demeanor and maintain positive interactions with all internal and external customers.
- Ability to perform the essential functions and physical demands of the position with or without accommodation.
- Ability to key data accurately.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the individual is required to stand for a long period of time; work and walk in a warehouse and manufacturing environment (exposure to dust, temperature, noise, and particles.
- Should have the ability to lift/move physical items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of automated office machinery, such as a computer.
- Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone.
- Visual capacity enabling frequent use of computer equipment.
