This individual will oversee all aspects of quality assurance for a suite of applications within the FinTech sector, ensuring that the products meet stringent Canadian banking regulations and compliance standards.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the QA team to deliver high-quality software releases, ensuring compliance with Canadian banking regulations and other industry standards.
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases to ensure the functionality and performance of products.
- Conduct both manual and automated testing across multiple platforms to identify issues early in the development lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including development, product management, and compliance teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery.
- Ensure that products adhere to industry regulations such as Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), and Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
- Maintain and update testing documentation, including test plans, test cases, and bug reports.
- Facilitate defect tracking and management, working closely with development teams to prioritize and resolve issues.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members and assist with career development.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to ensure QA practices are in line with evolving standards.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance within the FinTech or FSI domain, with a strong understanding of Canadian banking regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proven experience in leading and mentoring QA teams in an Agile environment.
- Strong proficiency in test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG) and manual testing techniques.
- Deep understanding of financial services applications, including banking systems, payment platforms, and regulatory compliance (AML, KYC, PCI DSS, etc.).
- Experience working with both front-end and back-end technologies, including web, mobile, and API testing.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with version control systems, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and defect tracking systems (e.g., Jira, TestRail).
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with performance and security testing, particularly in the context of financial applications.
