What You’ll Do


We are looking for an ambitious and motivated Associate to join our Bank Solutions (Interest Rate Derivatives Sales) team. This role requires that employees are available to work onsite in our New York or Chicago office. The Bank Solutions team helps regional and community banks offer interest rate hedging solutions to their commercial borrowers. We are effectively the interest rate sales and trading team for over 250 banks across the U.S. This is a client-facing role that involves daily interaction with bank executives and commercial banking lenders, as well as the trading desks of large money-center swap dealers.

You will support the daily activities of senior derivatives sales team members, structure and execute derivatives transactions, and assist with ad hoc projects.  Success in the role requires a foundational knowledge of financial markets with strong interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will have direct experience with interest rate derivatives and familiarity with commercial banking. This is a great opportunity to build a career in financial markets at a smaller organization where your work will have a direct impact on clients and the success of the firm. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Respond to client inquiries about pricing and structuring of interest rate derivatives 

  • Prepare client presentations and marketing materials 

  • Execute interest rate derivative trades with swap dealers and commercial borrowers 

  • Manage interest rate derivative transactions through each stage of the sales pipeline 

  • Communicate current market trends in an easily understood written format 

  • Coordinate onboarding for new transactions with partners in Legal, Compliance, and Operations 

  • Educate bank executives, lenders and borrowers on derivatives transactions that accomplish their risk-management objectives 

Qualifications


  • 1-3 years of professional work experience with interest rate derivatives 

  • Familiarity with Dodd-Frank regulations, ECP qualifications, and ISDA documentation 

  • Superior attention to detail 

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills 

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment 

  • Desire to build wide set of skills and contribute in multiple ways to a fast-growing firm 

Salary


The expected salary for this position ranges from $105,000 - $125,000 and eligible for a discretionary bonus. In addition, the team comprises senior leaders with backgrounds in rates and commodities trading and risk, as well as application development. We have developed a state of the art derivative trading platform, DerivativeEDGE, which we make available to all of our clients. This platform helps us automate key aspects of our clientsᅢᄁ¬ツᆲ¬トᄁ trading operations and the tasks necessary from a trade servicing standpoint as well. The platform provides a regional/community bank the confidence to operate a hedging program vis-ᅢテᅡᅠ-vis the requirements of its regulators/auditors.
