What You’ll Accomplish - Your Performance Objectives
In your first 30 days, you will:
- Onboard with the data engineering team to understand workflows, tools, and team dynamics.
- Review and familiarize yourself with the current Azure-based data infrastructure, including Azure Data Factory and SQL Server.
- Understand the existing pipelines, data models, and key data sources.
- Learn and support existing data products to ensure continuity and alignment with organizational goals.
- Gain insights into our current reporting and visualization tools, such as Sisense.
In your first 3 months, you will:
- Develop, deploy, and optimize data pipelines in Azure to support scalable and reliable data processing.
- Collaborate with the data acquisition team to implement data integration workflows using Azure Data Factory.
- Create and maintain robust data models and ensure data quality across SQL Server and related platforms.
- Identify opportunities to optimize current data architecture and processes.
In your first 6 months, you will:
- Expand data engineering capabilities to include Big Data solutions, leveraging tools like Databricks and Snowflake as applicable.
- Develop advanced reporting and visualization capabilities using Sisense.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure data solutions align with corporate goals and deliver meaningful insights to stakeholders.
- Establish performance metrics and monitor the efficiency and accuracy of data pipelines.
In your first 12 months, you will:
- Implement Big Data technologies to future-proof our data infrastructure.
- Collaborate with product team to support advanced data-driven initiatives, including AI integrations.
- Document and maintain best practices for data engineering processes, ensuring consistent and reliable operations.
- Production support and rollout of existing products to new client organizations

What You Bring - Skills and Experience
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on building and maintaining scalable data pipelines.
- Strong expertise in Azure technologies, including Azure Data Factory and SQL Server.
- Knowledge of Stored Procedures, Indexes, UDF’s, Views, and Datawarehousing best practices
- Proven ability to design, implement, and optimize ETL/ELT workflows.
Preferred:
- Experience with Big Data pipelines, leveraging tools such as Databricks or Snowflake.
- Familiarity with data visualization platforms like Sisense and Power BI.
- Knowledge of cloud-based analytics architectures and advanced data modeling techniques.
- Knowledge of ASP.NET, C#, or React
- Experience with AI/ML/Generative AI
