This position is for Summer 2025 (May - August)Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Must be flexible to meet current and future business needs, which may require some overtime.

Pay:


$30.00

This position is for students currently enrolled as an undergraduate in their Junior/Senior year or pursuing their graduate degree in a related field.


As an accounting intern within our accounting department, you will be based in Rochester, NY. The Accounting team is non-member facing and provides support across ESL and its subsidiaries. The accounting intern will work and network amongst other accounting & finance professionals at various levels of the organization. Specific duties will evolve around:

  • Developing an understanding of the Credit Union’s business model and core functions.
  • Preparing balance sheet account reconciliations in accordance with Policies and Procedures.
  • Shadowing all roles within the accounting department on a rotational basis.
  • Analyzing and organizing raw data to identify trends and insights to share with management.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications:


    • Currently an undergraduate student in your junior or senior year.
    • Accounting, Finance, or related Business major.
    • Expected to graduate between December 2025-May 2026.
    • Cumulative GPA is 3.25 or above.
    • Highly motivated and results oriented with a desire to exceed expectations.
    • Demonstrate intellectual curiosity and courage.
    • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to develop solutions to modestly complex challenges.
    • Legal authorization to work in the US now and in the future without sponsorship.
    • Demonstrates alignment with ESL’s Core Values, mission, vision, and Purpose to help our community thrive and prosper.
