Engine Parts Wash Technician (Part-Time)

POSITION SUMMARY


This position consists of cleaning engine parts in jet washes, solvent tanks, glass bead, and soda blasting machines. This position has a schedule of 25-29 hours per week.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


• Responsible for shop and break room clean-up, including but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing. • Responsible for cleaning the piece parts that have been removed and routed to the cleaning department after the engine has been disassembled• Cleaners are to remove grease build-up, corrosion products, etc., as well as prepare parts for the next overhaul step using various cleaning compounds and chemical solutions, spray guns, brushes, etc.• Completes forms associated with work assignments according to established procedures• Responsible for the completion of assigned shop tasks and projects, including providing support to other technicians to complete necessary work in a timely manner. • Maintain a safe, clean, and neat work environment through proper housekeeping and organization

SKILLS & ABILITIES


Education:

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required

Other Requirements:

Basic math, verbal, writing and reasoning skills required. Must be able to work a flexible work schedule as needed. Must be a team player and effectively utilize strong communication skills with others in the department and organization. Intermediate mechanical and technical aptitude desired. Technical training in automotive manufacturing a plus.
