SUMMARY:


We are currently in search of an exceptional Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to join our Technology Architecture and System Engineering team. In this role, your primary focus will revolve around creating robust and resilient software solutions with an unwavering commitment to quality and reliability.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Education: Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, a comparable program, or an equivalent qualification, with 3+ years of comprehensive experience in related field.

  • Experience:
  • Microsoft SQL DBA certification required.
  • Experience in scripting.
  • Experience in Windows and Linux systems.
  • Knowledgeable of database management systems in Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL.
  • Understanding of database architecture, design, and optimization.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Database Design & Implementation: Design, migration, and implement new MS SQL Server database structures that align with business requirements and optimize data management processes.
  • Database Performance Optimization: Monitor and assess database performance, proactively identifying bottlenecks. Implement query tuning, indexing, and process optimization techniques to ensure high availability and efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside application developers to ensure seamless database integration with applications, and help refine database design to enhance functionality and performance.
  • Security & Compliance: Enforce database security policies, implement encryption, and take proactive measures to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Data Integrity: Perform routine data quality checks to ensure the integrity and consistency of data. Implement necessary corrective actions and work to prevent data discrepancies.
  • Backup & Recovery: Develop, test, and maintain reliable backup and disaster recovery strategies to prevent data loss and ensure business continuity in the event of system failures.
  • System Maintenance: Conduct regular database maintenance tasks such as re-indexing, updates, patches, and version upgrades to keep systems running optimally.
  • Capacity Management: Monitor database growth, forecast future storage needs, and plan for capacity expansion to meet business demands.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Provide ongoing support for end-users and resolve database-related issues promptly. Troubleshoot and resolve complex database problems affecting applications and performance.
  • Training & Best Practices: Conduct training sessions for developers and end-users on best practices for database management, performance tuning, and security.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and issues. Generate regular performance and security reports for management.
