Terrestrial Energy is developing, for near-term commercial operation, a cogeneration capable nuclear plant using its proprietary Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR) fission technology in an innovative, small and modular plant design. The IMSR is a non-Light Water Reactor of the Generation IV class that operates at the high temperature required for broad industrial use with transformative economic potential. The IMSR plant is ideally suited for distributed generation of electricity and heat on a large-scale for many energy-intensive industries.This includes but is not limited to petrochemical and chemical plants, and data centers.
The IMSR plant delivers affordability and cost competitiveness of nuclear energy in competitive energy market from its many design attributes including high-temperature operation that results is a near 50 percent improvement in the efficiency of electric power generation compared to Light Water Reactor nuclear plants. Its industrial cogeneration capability delivers to today’s markets competitiveness, energy security, safety, and zero-emissions industrial production. The IMSR plants use of existing industrial materials, components, and fuels are distinguishing competitive features and supports their near-term deployment, setting the stage for a transformative change and rapid decarbonization of the primary energy system.To execute this plan, Terrestrial Energy is now looking to add talented people to the team, each of whom will:· Complement the existing team with fresh ideas, diverse perspectives and innovative solutions.· Be a team player with the ability to collaborate closely and interact with other teams within Terrestrial Energy.
· Be flexible and adaptable to change.· Have skillset and experience that relate to the role set out below.Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), The VP of Business Development (VP, BD) will be responsible for the following:
- Contribute the Company’s business strategy and assist with its execution.
- Identify, manage and develop key customer relationships, which will require both nuclear engineering project manage expertise and a detailed knowledge of the Company’s technology and business plans.
- Identify RFPs from public and private counterparties, prepare and manage responses.
- Identify strategic supply chain relationships, and manage and execute an engagement plan.
- Research industry sectors to identify business development and engagement opportunities outside the traditional nuclear power utility sector.
- Interaction and coordinate with other teams in the Terrestrial Energy including engineering, R&D, legal, and financial control with the experience to engaged in a sophisticated and competent manner with other technical groups in the Company.
- Represent Company at industry conferences in the US and abroad.
- Represent Company at Government Relations meetings in the US and abroad.
- Identify, apply and management US Department of Energy (DOE) funding opportunities.
- Administer NRC Pre-licensing activities and assist the Company’s Licensing Manager in the composition and submittal of Pre-licensing documents.
- Principal business activities will be in the United States, secondary activities are expected to be in Canada, UK, EU and Asia.
- Expected to travel domestically and internationally on a regular basis as needs arise.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, science or similar field is required.
- 10+ years of experience in business development and sales within the nuclear or energy environment.
- Strong command of nuclear industrial, nuclear technology and nuclear regulation in the US.
Assets
- Graduate degree level education strongly preferred.
- Professional designations preferred (i.e. CFA, PE).
- Experience of applying successful to Federal (e.g. DOE, DOD) FOAs for grant funding.
- Experience of state level grant funding programs attended state GR strategy.
- Power and energy market industry experience.
- International business experience including in Canada, UK, EU and Asia.
