Technical Product Specialist
We are seeking a versatile and proactive Technical Product Specialist to join our team. This hybrid role combines the hands-on expertise of a Hardware Specialist with the strategic vision of a Product Manager, enhanced by project management and vendor management skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in networking equipment, cellular devices, modern software architecture, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). You will play a pivotal role in managing technical products, driving projects, and ensuring the successful integration of innovative technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct vendor management activities, including sourcing, evaluating, and maintaining relationships with suppliers.
- Perform detailed device testing and comparisons, evaluating performance, reliability, and compliance with specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design, prototype, and test technical solutions.
- Plan, prioritize, and manage technical projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope.
- Serve as a product liaison, collecting feedback and translating user needs into actionable requirements.
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop and enhance product features and functionalities implemented in cloud based platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP.
- Create and maintain documentation, including technical specifications, testing protocols, evaluation reports, and project plans.
- Analyze incomplete requirements and take initiative to “fill in the blanks” with creative, functional solutions.
- Monitor emerging technology trends and provide recommendations for product innovation and improvement.
- Facilitate project meetings, track milestones, and ensure alignment across teams.
- Provide technical support and training to internal teams and customers as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong expertise in device testing, benchmarking, and comparison methodologies.
- Proven experience with networking equipment and cellular devices.
- Familiarity with modern software architecture and design patterns.
- Basic programming skills (e.g., Python, C++, or similar).
- Proficiency with Linux operating systems.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Strong understanding of hardware and software integration.
- Solid project management skills, including experience with planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Experience in vendor management, including supplier evaluation, negotiation, and relationship building.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to define and execute solutions with incomplete information.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or certification in electronics, computer science, or a related field.
- Experience in a product management role or similar cross-functional position.
- Familiarity with IoT devices, cloud platforms, or embedded systems.
- Experience in stakeholder management and delivering complex technical projects.
