JOB DESCRIPTION


The Credit Advisory Associate will assist in the underwriting, structuring, documentation and on-going account management of Antares borrowers that are more challenged / distressed (typically middle market cash flow loans for private equity sponsored transactions, including leveraged buyouts, dividend recapitalizations, add-on acquisitions and re-financings).

RESPONSIBILITIES


  • As a member of the Credit Advisory team, you will conduct financial and business due diligence including company & industry research, cash flow modeling, financial analysis, and so forth to determine the appropriate account management strategy.
  • You will prepare credit memos and have the opportunity to present the underwriting / portfolio management results and recommendations to an investment committee.
  • You will also assist and eventually lead client negotiations and assist in developing solutions that maximize the outcome for Antares and all key constituents either in or out of bankruptcy 
  • Throughout the deal management process, you will interact with various stakeholders, including private equity sponsors, company management teams, investment bankers, sponsor coverage, capital markets and credit professionals, legal counsel, loan closers and operations personnel.
  • You will have the opportunity to teach and mentor junior deal team members.

QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 3 years of experience and/or completed a formal credit training program
  • Collaboration skills: Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
  • Communication skills: Clearly articulate view-point (written & verbal), foster confidence when sharing / presenting information and, generally, promote open communication
  • Dependability: Reliable, responsible, dedicated, committed, and fulfills obligations. Proactive, takes initiative. Reaches out to others if unsure
  • Execution / Deliver on Commitments:  Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.  Effectively deal with ambiguous situations.  Able to multi-task, prioritize and manage self / time to meet commitments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Received either CFA or CPA professional certifications
  • Exposure / experience with the credit agreements / legal documentation of leveraged loans
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new systems / software quickly

A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range at time of posting is below. Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits. Actual base salary within the specified range is comprised of several components, including but not limited to applicant's skills, prior relevant experience, specific degrees and certifications, job responsibilities, market considerations and, if applicable, the location of the position.This role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus (based on company, business unit and individual performance).Our benefit offerings include medical, dental and vision coverage, employer paid short & long-term disability and life insurance, 401(k), profit sharing, paid time off, Maven family & fertility benefit, parental leave (including adoption, surrogacy, and foster placement), as well as other voluntary benefits. Salary Range (Chicago only)$115,000—$130,000 USDAntares is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
