Responsibilities:
- Picks production shop order part from inventory and places jobs in work cell. Care must be taken to assure correct parts are picked and orders are clearly marked per shop order.
- Works closely with Shop floor coordinator on expediting and following hot customer orders thru the shop.
- Works closely with Shop Floor Coordinator and Operations Manager supporting cycle counts, inventory accuracy, and putting away received inventory, shipping materials, and misc. items.
- Supports shipping clerk by packing product, shrink wrapping pallets, and supporting the workflow.
- Cross trains in the above functions to provide support when personnel are away from work.
- Performs other duties as requested by Operations Manager.
- May work in assembly and follows detailed assembly instructions and processes only when other duties are completed.
- Follows Quality Policy and Procedures, OSHA guidelines and regulations governing workplace safety.
- Follow all company Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures at all times.
- Respond to change productively and handle other duties as required.
- Work independently and employ effective time management skills.
- Over-time as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education and Experience:
- High School degree or equivalent.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Minimum 1-year experience with manufacturing processes including inventory, stocking and part picking experience.
- Must be proficient in operating power equipment (stand-up forklift, sit down forklift).
- Physical Requirements: This position requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling activities. In addition, there is frequent reaching and climbing of stairs. There is pushing and lifting / carrying of boxes weighing 50 lbs. Average vision and hearing is sufficient. This position is physically demanding.
- Working Conditions: Individual will generally be working in the production area. Noise levels encountered will vary from heavy machining to minimum noise level. Likewise, individual may be exposed to fumes from chemicals, paints, and assembly glues in the manufacturing areas. Please refer to the MSDS Notebook in this department for specific details regarding chemical exposure.
